Based on the mode chosen in your workflow

How do you automate publishing an article on WordPress?

Automating WordPress publishing means removing the repetitive tasks between ready content and going live: SEO title, meta description, featured image, category and publishing status. With SelfHook, every generated article reaches WordPress with these elements already prepared, in the category of your choice, as a draft to review or published automatically depending on your workflow’s mode. SelfHook keeps the article’s prepared structure all the way to WordPress: headings, tables, FAQ and formatting.

AFTER THE WRITING

The real work often starts after the writing

The article is written. Yet a string of small tasks still stands between it and going live. None of them is hard. Added up, and repeated for every article, they end up taking a real place in your week.

  • Another copy-paste.
  • Another meta description.
  • Another image to find.

This last stretch is what SelfHook takes care of.

For every article, by handExample
  1. 01Copy the article into WordPress and check the formatting
  2. 02Write the SEO title and meta description
  3. 03Fill in the focus keyphrase
  4. 04Find an image, upload it, write its alt text
  5. 05Set the featured image
  6. 06Pick the right category
  7. 07Publish, or keep it as a draft for later
4 articles / month × 3 sites= the same process 12 times
WHAT IS PREPARED

What reaches WordPress with your article

Not raw text to rework: a complete article, with everything that should go with it when it goes live.

SEO elements, already prepared

SEO title, meta description and focus keyphrase are written for every article and sent with it, along with an excerpt. No more retyping.

The featured image, in place

An image generated in your workflow’s chosen style, added to your media library, set as the featured image and given alt text.

The right category

The article is filed in the category you chose: an existing one, or a new one created in WordPress on the first run. Never in “Uncategorized”.

Structure preserved

SelfHook keeps the article’s prepared structure all the way to WordPress: headings, tables, FAQ and formatting.

A clear structure helps your readers, Google and AI answer engines understand the article. It does not guarantee any ranking.

CONTROL

You automate, you stay in charge

SelfHook doesn’t take WordPress out of the loop. The article lands on your site like any other: you can review it, edit it or unpublish it, with the tools you already know.

Automating doesn’t mean publishing without control.

  • Draft to review: the article waits in WordPress until you approve and publish it yourself
  • Changeable setting: switch from automatic publishing to draft, or back, at any time
  • Pause and manual trigger: pause a workflow or start an article whenever you decide
  • Link to every article: find your articles and their WordPress link in your dashboard
YOUR WORDPRESS

Your WordPress, the way you already use it

No new tool to learn, no site to migrate: SelfHook adapts to your setup, not the other way around.

Your site, your CMS

Articles arrive in your WordPress, with your theme, your categories and your review habits.

No SelfHook plugin

Publishing works without a SelfHook plugin: you connect your site with an application password, created from your WordPress profile.

The same process for every site

One workflow per site, with its own publishing settings. The number of sites depends on your plan.

Using Yoast SEO? From version 27.7, the SEO title, meta description and focus keyphrase are filled in automatically in Yoast.

SELFHOOK JOURNEY

The last step of a continuous journey

Publishing carries on from the rest of the work: from analysing your site to the article going live, without switching tools.

  1. 01

    SEO audit

Spot what is holding back your existing pages.

  2. 02

    Keyword strategy

Know what to publish, and in what order.

  3. 03

    Content generation

Structured articles that follow your editorial rules.

  4. You are here

    WordPress publishing

The article live, or as a draft, with everything that goes with it.

  5. 05

    Follow-up

Find your published articles and notify Google from their list.

No article ready yet? SEO content generation writes structured articles from your editorial rules, then hands them over to this step.

You want to apply the same process to every site, without starting over each time.

You want to approve

You want to automate the preparation while keeping a human review before publishing.

You are already set up

You use WordPress and Yoast and don’t want to change the way you work.

Frequently asked questions about WordPress publishing

Does SelfHook publish to WordPress automatically?

Yes, if you want it to. Automatic publishing is preselected, but you can choose Draft when creating the workflow and change this setting later. In draft mode, the article is created in WordPress without being published.

Can I review the article before it is published?

Yes. In draft mode, the article waits for you in WordPress: you review it, edit it if needed and publish it yourself. Reviewing happens in WordPress; SelfHook has no built-in article editor.

Which SEO elements are sent to WordPress?

For every article, SelfHook prepares an SEO title, a meta description, a focus keyphrase and an excerpt. With Yoast SEO 27.7 or later, the SEO title, meta description and focus keyphrase are filled in automatically in Yoast. With an older version, the article is sent as usual, but these fields still need to be filled in. Analysis and scoring remain Yoast’s.

Is an image added to the article?

Yes. An image is generated in your workflow’s chosen style, added to your WordPress media library, attached to the article and set as the featured image, with alt text.

How is the category chosen?

You choose it in the workflow: an existing category on your site, or a new one that SelfHook creates in WordPress on the first run. The “Uncategorized” category is not offered.

Do I need to install a plugin on my site?

No. Publishing works without a SelfHook plugin: you connect your site with a WordPress application password. The only requirement for Yoast fields to be filled in automatically is Yoast SEO 27.7 or later.

Do I need to change CMS?

No. SelfHook publishes to your existing WordPress site, with your theme and your categories.

Does SelfHook guarantee better Google rankings?

No. SelfHook saves you time on publishing and takes care of the elements that go with every article, but no ranking, traffic or visibility in AI answer engines can be guaranteed. Google, or the engine concerned, decides.

Fewer manual steps. More consistency.

Stop losing time between “article ready” and “article published”.

SelfHook prepares everything that goes with each article and sends it to WordPress. You keep the final say.

You can start in draft mode and switch to automatic publishing whenever you like.
